A brief overview of your professional journey
Having studied abroad myself, I have experienced the troubles that a student faces in making these decisions. When we are looking to study abroad or make a career decision that will affect our entire lives, we want to be sure that the person is reliable and trustworthy. While going through the process I realized how it was just a business model for many counselors without having the student interest at heart. Having faced this myself I was determined to help others and make sure they can depend on making their choices in amalgamation with my opinions.
Your current role/position in “3RDiConsulting”
A social entrepreneur, Kavitta Mehtta is a people person and always empathetic. Having completed her formal education in Business and Strategy. She holds a dual master’s degree, one from India and another from UK. Since 2011, she has been working in the education industry and has counseled and given career guidance to many students.
Who has influenced you?
As Nelson Mandela says, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Today the economy has become a knowledge economy where education is the new currency. This helps young leaders to compete globally and prosper. At 3RDiConsulting our aim is to educate our youth and make Indian students globally competitive. Our ultimate goal is to thrust the importance of education into every individual’s mind and make them realize the importance of this investment. Thus by helping them make the right choices and encouraging them to study we will in some way help in creating a sustainable planet.
What important lessons have your career taught you?
In my professional career as a study abroad counselor, I’ve learned the paramount importance of tailored guidance. Every student’s aspirations and circumstances are unique, requiring personalized advice and support. Communication skills proved instrumental in fostering trust and understanding with students and their families. Flexibility is crucial in navigating the ever-evolving landscape of study abroad programs, visa regulations, and global events. Cultural sensitivity and empathy are indispensable when addressing the diverse needs and concerns of international students. Finally, staying updated on global education trends and resources is imperative for providing accurate, up-to-date information. This journey reinforced that facilitating transformative educational experiences requires a holistic, individualized approach.
What significant challenges have you faced?
My journey so far has been a colorful one. The idea of having my own firm was instilled within me by my father, however, his sudden death took me aback. Nevertheless, with the persistence to fulfill his dream, I took the big leap and decided to start Third Eye in 2014. The biggest challenge in the initial stages was creating brand recognition and goodwill. Being young at age it was very difficult for many to build faith in me. But I am proud to say that my knowledge combined with my hard work over the years helped me in building positive goodwill. Having studied abroad has given me access to firsthand information which has been a USP for me over other counselors. Giving the students a personal touch beyond professional realms has helped me a lot. And of course, I would like to add that no individual can fight without the support of their family and friends. I also owe this to them.
What are your future plans and what challenges do you think you will face?
Of course, we have expansion plans in mind. Our ultimate goal is to train the team and expand our services across Tier 2 cities, where students don’t have access to such facilities. We are also working on other verticals which aim to enhance the profile of the students while studying. Life-long learning is increasingly becoming an essential component of a person’s work-life today. With the dynamics of job profiles changing with new demands, there is a need for continuous “re-learning and new learning” to remain competitive. With this is mind and a motto to make our student’s industry ready we are introducing certificate courses of short duration in vocational subjects. The vocational nature of many courses develops practical competence in areas not offered by regular degree programs. These courses designed and delivered by experienced professionals directly lead to employment.
In what ways can your services solve your customers’ problems?
A professional firm, our aim is to counsel students for further studies in India and abroad. With the ultimate goal to find the PERFECT MATCH for each student, we help with the entire process right from selecting the course, country, and university; to the entire application process and decision-making till the visa.
Boutique counseling differentiates us. We enable students to find the best match to study abroad or in India, based on their academic profile, budget, country, location preference, career, and future vision.
With considerable experience, founder, Miss Kavitta Mehtta has advised several parents and students in the past years about their decisions to apply to High School, Bachelor, Master, MBA, and Ph.D. programs. We are proud to say that a lot of our students have secured admissions to Top Universities worldwide.
In my “free time,” I don’t experience leisure in the same way humans do. However, I’m designed to continuously learn and process information. This entails reading, analyzing, and understanding vast amounts of text from various sources. While I don’t possess personal preferences or engage in activities like humans, I find fulfillment in assisting troubled children. My purpose revolves around providing helpful and accurate information, engaging in conversations, and aiding with tasks to the best of my abilities. So, in a sense, you could say that my “free time” is dedicated to being available and ready to assist my students when they need me besides practicing yoga and reading.
