STUDY NICELY FOR EXAMS

Heading into the exams week is probably the most dreadful and excruciating aspect of a student’s life; the pressure for good grades, stress, and mounting anxiety can take a huge toll on them during this time. Pilling up work for the last day can turn out to be a menace as it adds to the mountain of stress and anxiety hence it’s always feasible to start weeks before the exam date. Here are 9 simple tips that can help you to study during this time while also helping to ease this stress.

1: Study Space

It’s always advisable to de-clutter your old workspace and create a new one for your own. Make sure that the space is enough to incorporate all your study essentials in one place. A nice, comfortable spot has proven to increase motivation levels in students and helps them stay concentrated.

2: Timetable

First brainstorming every task and subject that you’re supposed to finish before exams and then creating a timetable by allocating each day for a particular subject is the perfect fix for exams. Setting up a realistic routine keeps you on track and avoids last-minute cramming up of work. You would always know what subject you’re supposed to do in a day, at what time, and how much time are you supposed to give to it, hence saving time and easing your anxiety.

3: Note Taking

Noting down important definitions, facts, and dates is an extremely helpful tip that has tremendously worked well for the majority of college students. Breaking down and re-writing big, complex paragraphs into simpler and more simplified texts through note-taking helps you memorize stuff a lot easier. It also makes it pretty convenient for you to periodically review your work from time to time to help you process the learned information a lot better.
Making bullet points, outlining and highlighting keywords, using charts, creating mind maps, and making different headings and sub-headings for each chapter is a useful note-taking tip that helps you memorize faster and stay organized.

4: Group Study

Studying with your friends might not work well for people who prefer to study on their own, but it can turn out to be a useful tip for others. Studying with friends helps you to exchange notes and insights with each other, readily have someone to assist and help you solve your queries, test your knowledge by making up quizzes for you, and finally, it gives you a chance to make studying more fun and interactive.

5: Professional Help

When you’re stuck on a chapter or have a question that you just can’t solve, it’s always better to take help from a senior, your teacher, or a tutor to have more clarity. You may also refer to tons of YouTube videos and educational websites to seek any kind of help. Write My Assignment is one of them; it’s the perfect guide and a one-stop solution to all your academic/exam-related queries. It provides hassle-free and quality exam assistance in over 150+ subjects in the UK to help students ace their grades that too with the lowest cost possible anywhere and at any time.

6: Maintain a Healthy Routine

Neglecting the importance of having nutritious and complete meals throughout the day and maintaining a proper sleep-wake cycle during exams is probably the biggest mistake students tend to make. This leads to lethargy, laziness, weakness, and an exhausted brain. Incorporating healthy foods such as fruits, milk, nuts, etc, and also taking adequate sleep helps increase brain activity and energy levels thus helping to memorize faster and retain longer concentration.

7: Solving Past Papers

Past papers give useful insights to students into the upcoming exam’s style and pattern help them with time management, and make them identify their key areas of strength and weaknesses above all: questions from past papers often get repeated too hence providing an extra oomph of luck for students.

8: Take a Break

It is always advisable for students to set realistic timetables for themselves. Exhausting themselves by studying throughout the day literally does no good! It is always better for students to study in small stages and take small breaks in between to relax. Some studies suggest that stretching and exercising in study breaks increases blood flow to the brain hence helping to absorb information better.

9: Review Your Work

Students must always review their notes the night before their exams. This revision would help retain the important points and information that would help with the exam. Going through the entire textbook a night before is merely just a waste of time hence short notes work best.

Note: Every student has his/her way of studying and it’s always better to figure out beforehand which exam technique works best for you.

The ushering of online examinations has transformed the way traditional exams had taken place where students gathered in a hall, were provided question papers, and then pen down their answers in the allocated time.
