In 1996, I embarked on my journey in the IT industry as a Software Engineering student at a time when it was commonly referred to as the Computer Industry, marked by apprehension due to the looming Y2K problem. The landscape back then was far from the organized structure we witness today, compounded by the absence of widespread internet access, adding an extra layer of complexity to the challenges I faced. Despite these obstacles, I secured my inaugural position in 1998 as a Computer Instructor, where my unique exposure to students spanning various age groups allowed me to delve into the intricacies of User and Customer Experience, shaping my approach to designing training modules tailored to diverse learning capacities.
As my career progressed, I undertook a multifaceted learning journey encompassing a broad spectrum of skills and technologies, ranging from Computer Hardware and Networking to Cybersecurity, Web design, Graphics and animation, Business Analysis, and Frontend Development. Rather than confining myself to a singular role, whether it be a developer, designer, or business analyst, I opted for a holistic perspective, enabling me to excel in providing end-to-end solutions to digital challenges. This approach proved instrumental throughout my professional trajectory, where I consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to lead and manage digital product portfolios across diverse domains.
My versatility and adaptability were further showcased through my exposure to an array of industries, including Banking, Information Security, E-Commerce, Education, Finance, Project Management, IoT, AR/VR/Mixed Reality, and Healthcare. This diverse experience not only highlighted my ability to navigate through varying business environments but also positioned me as a seasoned professional capable of addressing the unique demands of each industry.

With two decades of dedicated service to the industry, I have proudly played a pivotal role in enhancing the digital prowess of the organizations I’ve been a part of, fostering both organizational growth and the professional development of my peers. Recognizing the need to extend my impact beyond the boundaries of a singular entity, I made the strategic decision to co-found Cybrent Technology Solutions (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. on April 7th, 2022, alongside my wife, Darshana Dhayfule, who serves as the Managing Director and sole owner of this One Person Company. This venture marks a significant step in my journey, as I bring forth years of experience and a commitment to innovation to a broader audience, transcending the confines of any specific organization. Together, we are poised to contribute to the wider world of technology solutions and make a lasting impact on the digital landscape.
The most significant challenges you’ve encountered in life
Navigating a landscape filled with critics, naysayers, and skeptics has been my paramount challenge. Hailing from a middle-class background, societal norms consistently attempted to dissuade me from venturing into entrepreneurship. Undeterred, in 2007, I seized an opportunity presented in an advertisement— the prospect of establishing a White Labelled Domain Registration and Hosting Service without a substantial upfront investment. With a meager portion of my salary, I embarked on this entrepreneurial endeavor. At that time, the Indian market lacked significant local players, and services were predominantly priced in USD.
This venture not only exposed me to the intricacies of Domain Registration and Hosting but also positioned me as a trailblazer, extending credit to small and budding entrepreneurs who sought these services. Subsequently, I expanded my entrepreneurial pursuits into custom software development, leveraging the skills of freelancers with remarkable success. Balancing these endeavors with my full-time commitments, I emerged as a part-time entrepreneur, gaining invaluable firsthand experience in the challenging realm of entrepreneurship. While the financial gains might not have been monumental, the insights and lessons acquired were instrumental, in shaping my understanding and resilience in the world of business.
Who has played the most influential role in your growth?
I am not easily influenced, and I do not seek to influence others. Instead, I find motivation in the absence of support, guidance, and mentoring. I have always been criticized, even today. This criticism fuels my desire to prove my detractors wrong, and it is what drives me to strive for excellence. I believe that every challenge and obstacle I face is an opportunity to grow and improve. My relentless pursuit of success is my most powerful weapon against criticism.
What key takeaways have you gained from your career journey?
In the profound journey of professional existence, the essence lies in embracing flexibility as the guiding principle. A lament echoes within me for the emerging talents ensnared in the pursuit of jobs and monetary gains through conventional, rote learning—bereft of a genuine thirst for knowledge. In the nascent days of my career, the industry was not rigidly compartmentalized into the dogmas of Technology Religions and Subcastes, such as Developers, Designers, Testers, and the like. It was an era of malleability, a time when individuals like myself hungered for knowledge, transcending the confines of prescribed roles.
The realization dawned upon me that cultivating a myriad of secondary skills and capabilities alongside primary proficiencies was paramount. This diversified skill set became my armor, fortifying me even during the tumultuous Recession period of 2008. My message to the burgeoning talent of today is a plea to refrain from a blind pursuit of certifications solely for the allure of employment. Instead, I implore them to embark on a quest for knowledge, for in nurturing their skills and capabilities, they shall not merely secure jobs but cultivate
In your opinion, what is the most significant challenge for brands in the digital landscape?
The proliferation of social media and AI marketing bots has created a maelstrom of digital information, making it exceedingly difficult for brands to connect with their target audiences. This chaos is exacerbated by the preferential treatment given to influencers by business social network algorithms, resulting in an overwhelming dominance of leisure content over valuable business insights. This prioritization of amusement over substance has relegated genuine knowledge and business information to the depths of the digital abyss, further hindered by the relentless promotion of viral influencer content.
As a consequence of this digital information chaos, even small, struggling startups that generate significant value are compelled to squander their limited financial resources on expensive digital marketing campaigns, which often prove futile in generating leads. This unfortunate reality stems from the monetization strategies employed by business social networks, which were initially conceived to provide brands with a platform for professional engagement but have now morphed into profit-driven entities that overshadow business posts with viral entertainment content.
This challenge demands a collective effort to restore order to the digital landscape and empower brands to effectively reach their intended audiences. It necessitates a paradigm shift in the way social networks prioritize content, ensuring that valuable business insights are not overshadowed by fleeting trends and frivolous entertainment.
To address this challenge, we must:
- Decentralize content curation: Establish a more democratic approach to content curation, reducing the reliance on algorithms that favor influencer content over substantive information.

As a certified Reiki practitioner, I embrace the power of energy healing to promote well-being. My writings span both technical and philosophical domains, reflecting my diverse interests. Under the brand “Efil Tecaf – The Life Facet,” I share my philosophical insights, guiding others toward inner peace amidst the chaos of modern life. My four science fiction novels, “Planet Soulance – The Civilisation of Souls”, which has three seasons, and “The Wet Civilisation – The Era when 100% of Earth is Water,” transport readers to captivating worlds of imagination and exploration. Through my writing and healing practices, I strive to inspire and uplift individuals, fostering a sense of balance and harmony in their lives.

What suggestions do you have for people who want to step into entrepreneurship?
In the bustling tech startup scene, it’s become commonplace for young entrepreneurs to assume lofty titles like CEO, CTO, and CMO, even without the requisite corporate leadership experience. While their ambition and drive are commendable, this trend has diluted the true meaning of these titles, which were once earned through years of dedication and hard work by seasoned industry veterans.
I acknowledge the achievements of these young trailblazers, but I’ve noticed a concerning pattern: an increasing aggressiveness and insensitivity in their approach to dealing with people. In today’s hyper-competitive environment, this tendency to outsmart others, especially experienced professionals, has often led to arrogance and self-glorification.
Instead of succumbing to this ego-driven mindset, young CEOs would benefit from adopting a more humble and resilient approach. They should view seasoned leaders not as rivals to be outsmarted but as mentors to learn from. By embracing humility and seeking guidance from those who have traversed the path of leadership, they can accelerate their own growth and foster a more collaborative and respectful work environment.
