My Life Story
I spent my early years in orphanages up to the 10th standard because my father left before, I was even born. My family consisted of just my mother and me, making life particularly challenging. During those difficult times, my uncle stepped in and provided invaluable support, helping us navigate the challenges we faced.
After completing the 10th standard, I enrolled at Government Higher Secondary School Vazhakkad to study in the Science group. During this period, I took on various night jobs to support my mother and myself. Balancing work and education was not easy, but it taught me the importance of resilience and hard work. Through these jobs, I managed to save enough money to build a house for us. The housewarming day was particularly memorable as it coincided with my 12th standard mathematics exam, highlighting my ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and underscoring the importance of perseverance in achieving my goals.
Following my 12th standard, I joined AKNM Government Polytechnic College to pursue a Diploma in Electronics. After completing my diploma, I moved to Bangalore and undertook a one-year internship at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). During this time, I also enrolled in an Embedded Systems course, attending classes at night after my internship, which ran from 8 am to 4 pm. This period was intense but incredibly rewarding, as it allowed me to gain valuable practical experience while continuing my education.
After returning home from Bangalore, I began my career by assisting engineering graduates with their final year projects and teaching Embedded Systems. This experience was fulfilling and provided a strong foundation for my career. It also led me to join Robokidz in Pune, India, where I served as the Technical Head for Kerala. In this role, I honed my skills in marketing and strategy building, which were pivotal in my professional development.
Reflecting on my journey, it is evident that my life has been marked by challenges and determination. Despite losing my father before birth and facing the hardships of living in orphanages, the support of my uncle and my own determination to succeed propelled me forward. Building a home for my mother, pursuing higher education, and establishing a career are all milestones that demonstrate the results of hard work and dedication.
My Entrepreneurship Journey: From Vision to Reality
In 2015, driven by a passion for technology and education, I started my first Startup, Learn In Deep. The idea was to create an e-learning platform with tinkering courses to promote a technical lifestyle. However, the platform struggled to gain traction. Engagement was low, and the results were disappointing. I quickly realized how important it was to build a strong community to engage clients and create an interactive learning environment. The failure of Learn In Deep taught me a valuable lesson about the need for a supportive community in any educational project.
Undeterred, I applied what I had learned and in 2020 launched my second venture, Young Innovators Community. This was an offline tinkering community aimed at K-12 students, focusing on 21st-century technologies and learning methods. Although the idea was innovative and promising, it faced significant challenges. The lack of a solid platform for communication and student engagement was a major hurdle.
Without a good way to foster interaction and collaboration among students, the community did not thrive as expected. Yet, this setback didn’t deter me. Instead, it made me realize the importance of seamless communication and engagement in educational ventures.
By 2022, with the knowledge gained from my past ventures, I launched Young Minds. This digital platform is dedicated to transforming young minds into innovators and kidpreneurs, with a focus on achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Young Minds combines tinkering, innovation, and entrepreneurship in a unique way, fostering creative thinking and practical skills. The platform was designed with a strong focus on engagement and interactive learning experiences. Using digital tools, it provided a comprehensive chat platform to ensure continuous interaction, collaboration, and mentorship for students.
The journey from Learn In Deep to Young Minds was full of challenges and valuable lessons. Each failure laid the foundation for future success, highlighting the importance of community, engagement, and adaptability in education technology. Today, Young Minds stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and the relentless pursuit of innovation. It represents not just years of hard work and learning, but also a commitment to empowering the next generation of thinkers, innovators, and leaders.
